Hello Super Awesome People! It is time for a new FaceRig update. We've just breached the 80 000 USD mark: over two thirds of our funding goal! We are super excited by your dedication and support. You are too awesome for words and we wish we could hug every last one of you (again!), funders and non funding folks alike. The campaign has attracted positive attention from the Indiegogo staff, and it is now listed on the Indiegogo homepage (on the big cross-fading banner). This is HUGE, and it is all your merit. FaceRig has so far surpassed many campaigns with a lot of mainstream press coverage because you have supported and talked about it. We know it is your merit because we have yet to divert any significant part of our financial resources to marketing (we've only paid for press release writing and distribution on various channels, and multi language voice recs. on fiverr). Aside from that all the money we could gather went into development so far (hardware, licenses, etc). Crowd Power! :) Many folks have mailed us and asked us to embrace spending some money on marketing, and purchase banners on various sites (FurAffinity, DeviantArt etc). It is not super-expensive, so we will do this just after Christmas. Also many folks have mailed us with words of encouragement and support. Others have thanked us for building a program that will allow them to talk online with expressions and emotions, while also protecting their privacy. We have received a few especially touching emails about how FaceRig might help some people conquer their social anxiety. Thank you all. We are supper happy to create a program that has a chance to entertain, but also help people. People have also written that they are considering learning 3D just for FaceRig. This has sparked an idea. It is obvious that there are some big companies such as Autodesk (makers or 3DSMax and Maya), the LEAP sensor folks and maybe others too, that stand to gain something if FaceRig becomes popular, and it would only be fair to tug their sleeve and ask them to take a peek at our project, and maybe endorse it. We'll think about how to get their attention (most likely we will need your help, because a single voice/message tends to be overlooked, but many voices can break through). We'll call this the 'Sleeve Tug' initiative, destined to get the attention of the 'big guns'. We'll talk about it in a future update :). In the meantime, you rock ! (Holding off the on holiday greetings for tomorrow :D)
